Blue Shield x Lake Merritt Institute Cleanup

Thanks for helping to keep Lake Merritt beautiful 

Employees from Blue Shield came down on April 25th to remove trash from our lake

Volunteers fished out trash at El Embarcadero

 

Just in the area around the pergola, volunteers ended up filling 6 bags of trash!

In total, Blue Shield pulled out 12 bags’ worth of trash. They covered the area of lake Merritt between the Sailboat Clubhouse and the Cleveland Cascades. 

Many thanks for all their hard work- we appreciate the time and effort everyone gave in order to keep Oakland’s jewel shining!
