Environmental Science Field Trip to Lake Merritt
Enhance your classroom science curriculum with hands-on life science activities at beautiful Lake Merritt. Teachers can explore our Lake Merritt Watershed lesson in their own classroom followed with a field trip down to Lake Merritt Institute for water quality testing curriculum and stewardship lake cleanup. Students will learn how to assess the health of the lake by measuring dissolved oxygen, water temperature, and salinity. They discussed their findings and explored how urban pollution impacts these indicators.

Groups of twelve or less can be accommodated in our office; larger groups can be scheduled if the Boating Center classroom is available or we may come to your location. Typically about 45 minutes in length, these events can be combined with a clean-up event. Age-related videos are shown for younger age students.
