Report from A-Team at E 18th St: Before & After

On Tuesday morning, November 5th, 2024, our weekly A-Team cleanup crew was shocked by the amount of trash at E 18th, the worst we’ve seen! The area was cluttered with plastic bottles, food wrappers, and even large debris like table furniture, stool, and baby stroller. It was a daunting sight, but thanks to the A-Team’s dedication, we saw an impressive transformation.

As always, we’re so grateful for their hard work and commitment to keeping Lake Merritt clean. The before-and-after difference was incredible, reminding us that every cleanup makes a real impact. Together, we continue to protect and restore this precious ecosystem!

Excellent work. You got much of the trash before the tide came back in and washed it out into SF Bay. Some of these items did not come via the storm drains, which means someone is using the lake as a dump. They need to be apprehended.
