At Lake Merritt Institute (LMI), we’re out on the lake five days a week, removing trash and keeping our waters clean. This constant activity means our equipment sees a lot of wear, so it’s essential to keep it in top shape.
We’ve recently given our U-Clean-It boxes a fresh look after they were defaced by graffiti and damaged by wood rot. Custom built by a local carpenter and also a local artist, Lizette Cable, has beautifully painted them!
Also, our trusty nets endure significant wear and tear as they scrape against rocks while being pulled out of the water. Our weekly A-team understands this and helps us do the tedious work of hand repairing our custom telescoping nets to clean the lake.
All of this crucial maintenance is made possible by your generous donations. Your support helps us replace worn-out nets, restore our equipment, and keep Lake Merritt a clean, safe space for everyone. Thank you for being a vital part of our mission!
